Leveling Jacks Go Down By Themselves?

My 2017 Greyhawk jacks seem to extend by themselves. Not sure how much, maybe just a little.

After sitting retracted for a period of time, I start the vehicle and hear the jack warning beeping away. I just assumed this was normal. Lately though I have hit the retract button prior to starting the engine and I hear the retract sequence take place. Then when I start the engine there are no warning beeps.

Do these jacks tend to ease themselves down without intervention?

The same thing happens to me with my 2017 Greyhawk. I talked to a well respected RV tech(40 years) who said it normally happens and no need to worry. His answer was much more complicated than that, but I can't remember the details. Something about there is a fluid level sensor and the pump recovers the fluid or something like that.

Good to know it may be normal. Or at least they have an excuse for it.

My 2017 won't go down with the engine running. Emergency brake also needs to be engaged. Neither matters when extracting.

Must have been a design change between years. In my opinion it seems safer to not allow jack operation while the engine is running. You don't want the jacks extended if there is a possibility that you may move.

I hope they go up really quick! Just the coach lurching a little bit when the trans goes into Drive could bend something.

I've had the same situation happen that the OP has.
