New to JOF and electrical question

Hi all. New here to post, but not to read and search all of the great information. I searched and think I found my issue, but want to double-check. Camping this weekend and connected to shore power at campground. 30amp. Everything working great for 1.5 days. Last night, no shore power (although still hooked up). Pedestal power good, no fuses blown, no breakers tripped. Battery not charging either. Only outlets and micro have power. All lights super dim. Get up this morning, same scenario. Start checking all connections all look good. Decide to remove inline surge protector from CG pedestal power and plug in directly. Go back inside and everything is working perfectly. Go back out, plug surge protector back in to pedestal. Go back in camper, everything is still working perfectly. Come home, plug in with 110 and adapter, everything works perfect. I think my Iota DLS-45 is going out. Blocking shore power from 12 volt DC units and not charging? Am I right? Thanks

It is a Surge Guard model 44260, 120V 30AMP, 2100 Joules. It is brand new, but I guess that is not a guarantee. Something I did leave out in the initial post (brevity I suppose) was that it did occur at my house about 2 weeks ago (but the surge protector was not in use then). I tightened every electrical connection in the fuse/circuit/converter area. It started to work. I hoped that was it. I am guessing this is all just coincidence.

On a 30 amp service if your surge was going bad you would not have had power to anything. No micro and no outlets no nothing. It sounds more like a converter issue.

Agree with possible converter issue. If surge protector was faulty...micro and outlets wouldn't work either...as see it.

I believe on my old IOTA Converter/Charger there were one or two DC reverse polarity fuses....., check that they aren't compromised (loose, etc.).

Rustic Eagle, you are correct there are two. They are good. I replaced both when it occurred a few weeks ago (although neither looked bad). Symptoms seem to be the same, random sporadic failure.

Just trying to rule out all possibilities short of a bad IOTA...; are all the ground screw lugs tight at the fuse panel, to frame, etc....., or maybe a bad breaker?

Screws are all tight. No signs of a weak or bad breaker either. I appreciate the help. I don't want to spend $150 on a new converter and still have the same problem.
