Questions on Grey Tank in 2006 Jayco Greyhawk

Grey tank drains slow for some reason. Has anyone had this happen and if so any suggestions on how to cure it? Also I have not been able to find a way to access the tank and would like to so I can thoroughly flush it. Black tank is easy via toilet but grey tank seems unaccessible. And yes my idiot lite indicators don't work and I have used the normal treatments and cleaners so that's why the questions. Thanks

What do you mean by slow? Remember it is only a 1 1/2" pipe and not 3" like the black.

Could try using a plumbers snake to see if there is any obstruction at the tank outlet or valve, then run a garden hose up the same path & method.

I have an 08 GH and I've got good "flow" when I drain the GT, clear connectors show the hose/pipe as 3/4's full or more.

Thanks - I will try the garden hose method and see if it improves. I am trying to go through the whole RV checking all the systems because we bought it used and have no idea what kind of care it received. So far very happy just working all the bugs out of it. Thanks to all on the forum - this is a really big help.

Not sure if any are in your area, but there are companies who specialize in high pressure RV tank cleaning. They go in from the outside and blast everything loose. Possibly a local dealer does it as well.

I saw an interesting post on this issue by a guy who is an RV'er and a chemist. Here is his formula. Buy a box of Calgon water softener from the store. It's a powder. You might have to look for it. Have your tank near full. Mix two cups of Calgon into 1 gallon of Hot water and let it dissolve. Then add one cup of Dawn liquid dish detergent. Pour down the drain. Then drive it around for a while and take some turns let it soak in. Give it some time. The Calgon softens the water so the debris can't stick, and the detergent gives it a good washing. He uses this for the black tank at every outing, but I'm sure it would work for the grey too. I haven't tried it myself, but I intend to. He claims this works so well he never needs chemicals after dumping and no smell.
