25BH Towing

Hi all, Im new to the forum and looking for some towing advise before purchasing. I know these questions have been beat to death but I am new to the travel trailer world and Im trying to learn.
We have been looking at a 2018 JayFeather 25bh. The actual weight on the yellow sticker from the factory says with full propane tanks is 5564lbs. Hitch wt is 645lbs.
My tow vehicle is a 18 F150 supercrew 4x4 . Tow rating is 9100lbs, Actual payload on the yellow door sticker is 1922lbs and GCWR is 14400lbs.
The weight of my family with everyone including dog is 850lbs.
Also I plan on changing the P series tires with LT E load rated tires before hooking up the trailer.
My numbers say Im good on this combo but was wondering what others think. Want to get it right as this is our 1st ever Travel Trailer.
Appreciate the help.
Thanks

The 25BH is an excellent match for your F150. Even if loaded max GVWR for the trailer of 6750#, you should be seeing tongue weights below 1000# which will be on the upper side, but fine with the cargo capacity of your F150. Get yourself a good weight distribution hitch system and you will be fine.

Best of luck with your new Jayco if you pick it up.

You've got ~500 # of payload left IF the tongue weight is accurate but probably not. You'll have another 60# for a battery on the tongue. You don't mention any WDH, so get a good one, get it set up/adjusted properly, and should be good to go.

I would wait on the new tires for the truck, see how it tows with what you have first. JMO

Hi to you and welcome to the forum.

Jayco's website says the max weight for the trailer when loaded is 6750lbs.

The tongue weight should be between 10%-15% of the weight of the trailer, the more the better. So 13% would mean 877lbs. 877 + 850 = 1,727lbs. That would leave you with about 190lbs of cargo in the bed of the truck.

I pull a 22bhm which is just about 5000lbs fully loaded with the same truck you have and it’s a great drive. I have a husky centreline ts wd hitch and I have no issues when it’s windy or getting passed by transports on the highway.

You’ll be fine. There are some 3/4T without that much payload.
