B&W 5th Wheel Hitch set up

I recently purchased a B&W companion 5th wheel hitch and am installing it in my 2020 Ram 3500 DRW (puck system). Does anyone have experience with the arm position for both height and axel location for a Northpoint 377 RLBH?

Thanks

What "arm" are you referring to?

The steel arms that hold the coupler head. Basically, what bolt locations should I start with? Does that help, or would pictures be better?

I did not install mine, but the arms are set at the lowest position. I have a RAM 3500 with OEM airbags and they tend to ride high in the rear. The top of the arms should be directly over your axle. Do you have airbags?

I don’t yet, but it’s on my list. I’m getting ready to pick up my Northpoint for the first time, and I wanted to have a 90% answer while installing the hitch myself.

Don't have my Jayco yet...but on my RAM 3500 Dually 4x4 with the B&W and factory pucks... its the lowest position and I installed it over the axle. Also, my pinbox was set as high as it could go...these trucks are tall.

Lowest position is mostly likely what you will need....also doubt you will need airbags with that trailer and truck.

It all depends on distance between the bedrails and the 5'er and how the unit sits back to front. May have to do a "trial and error" session. All the instructions state are kingpin locations and relative to height. Doesn't state weights and models.

I don’t have your 5th or TV but I have owned my Companion since ‘14. When I received it (big brown truck) I took a stab at positioning the arms and hitched up. After studying how it looked I made some changes and hitched again. I seem to recall making a couple of adjustments. I don’t recall exactly what height I selected but I recall that I chose the rear most config, puts the weight an inch or so behind the axle.
My opinion would be to adjust the height first. My TV is a ‘13 and I believe newer trucks (Blue Ovals anyway) may sit a little higher so the 5th springs may need an adjustment to get a level tow.

Thanks for all of the quick feedback

Based on the recommendations in the thread, I’ve decided to start with the lowest setting for height, and 2” behind the axel (see picture, pen points to set up).
