F250 Hitch insert

New owner of a 2022 F250, coming from a 150. The bumper pull hitch is 2.5in and the inserts I find dont match up with the holes. Is that the way its supposed to be as in the insert sticks out ?

Mine came with a 2.5" to 2" insert. Pretty sure it was under the back seat, but I've slept since then.

I ended up ordering a 2.5" shank later to lessen the slop.

As madmaxmutt said, look in one of the cubby storages on the back. That's where mine came in our 3500 Ram

I don't own a Ford, but my spacer does stick out about an inch. I think its designed that way to give you a way to hold the sleeve while you insert the draw bar, or else you'd push the sleeve too far in.
