Favorite Tongue Jack Stands

Just picked up our new White Hawk 28RL, and reading the instructions for the A-Frame Tongue Jack, says do not stack on wooden blocks, as they may be unstable. Is this just a clause from the attorneys? Was wondering what everyone's fav jack stand(s) are. Thanks.

I built a square tower of 4x4s (13"x9" 10" tall) that is held together with screws and construction adhesive. I built it after a close call and mild panic with stacked lumber.

That same close call is when I switched to heavy, solid rubber chocks for the trailer tires rather than light plastic ones. Lesson learned. It was nearly a case for this forum under "Most Bonehead Move".

Come to think of it, a day earlier at the same site as the close call, is where I saw the RV across from us rinsing off their sewer hose and elbows under the fresh water spigot at their site. Now I use a bleach solution on water spigots before connecting my fresh water hose.

Live and learn.

I have a piece of 6x6 that I picked up off a pile of scrap lumber at the storage site.

I use the Andersen Tongue Jack Stand. It's the large red one. 8" tall, 12" diameter at the base, and 10" diameter at the top. Weighs 5.3#.

When I bought my last trailer, I was "given" a certificate to buy anything in their RV supply/parts store. So I picked it up.

For me, it has worked great. When on the move, I store it in the rear of the truck.

Altee, I have a 2014 Flight 26BH with electric tongue jack. Is one of the Anderson stand jacks enough or would you think I need 2 of them for more height???
Thanks, Mike

I don't think the 26BH is any higher off the ground than the 23RB. I find one works fine. I wish my one Andersen was about 2" to 4" taller, but if they are stacked, I think the combo is 8" taller. 8" for me would too much I think.

I used scrap 4x4" lumber/posts to make mine, using some 5-6" landscaping timber screws to screw 'em together, the blocks are about 12" long x 7" wide x 3.5" high, and screwed together from both sides. I can stack 'em 2 high. I assembled them on a concrete floor so they would be smooth/flat to allow stacking, and just turn them at 90* so they are very stable.
