Opinion Maxxis M8008 or Goodyear Endurance

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for feedback on tires. I want to upgrade my current TT trailer's (factory installed Chinese tires) tires with either the Maxxis M8008 or the Goodyear Endurance tires.
  • Maxxis M8008 - 225/75R 15 ,Load E 80PSI. Max Load 2830
  • Goodyear Endurance - 225/75R 15, Load E 80 PSI, Load 2833
I have a Jayco Whitehawk (31RLKS) GVWR is #8950. I've read way too many horror stories that scared the crap out of me driving the TT with the current tires.

I would love some feedback, good or bad, or any advice you could give this newbie.

I went with the Goodyear Endurance Load E from my OEM Rainier tires. Very happy with the Goodyears. The Goodyear Endurance tires are new so there is little for long-term, high-mileage reports from users yet.

a few years ago I went with the maxxis tires to replace the factory tires on my 5th wheel. purchased them based on all the positive comments about them. after many dirt roads they still look good and I am very happy with them.

When we had our Cougar TT we replaced our tires after 5000 miles with Towmax tires from Les Schwab. The next year at an RV show several brands of TT’s had Towmaxes. We put a few thousand miles on them with no problems, they handled and tracked very well.

We got rid of our Blowmax tire after one year and went with Maxxis M8008's.
Very satisfied and feel a lot safer with good tires under the TT.

Happy RVing,
Jeff

I purchased the Endurances in the same size you are looking at back in June this year. Nice solid tire, cut down on sway, never had to add any air, put about 5k miles on them with no problems. I also like supporting USA workers.

Before the Endurance, there were no ST tires IMO that beat the Maxxis.

Now there are 2 to choose from. If I used that size/ LR tire, I would go with the one I could get best price on.

As one who had had Maxxis and now have the GY Endurance, I would go with the Endurance.

Mostly because it has a higher speed rating at 87 mph. Not that I plan on going that fast but it would seem logical to me it can withstand heat a bit better than the 65 mph tire.

Thanks all! Seems like they are both great tires and it'll probably come down to if my local tire dealer (probably discount tire) will have them in stock and at what price.

I just don't understand why RV manufactures put low grade equipment on their product. I get the price point and they want to make as much money for their profits but I would rather have an option to upgrade when buying. I think Jayco allows for an upgrade on the Eagle TT?? Why not for all?

Also check the mfg dates on the tires. The Discount tire I went to had both the tires you asked about, since the Endurance was such a new tire they were only six weeks old, the Maxxis was already 18 months old.

When we ordered our 2017 321RLTS (July 2016), we upgraded to the Maxxis tire. We have about 6000 miles on them now and can't see any real ware yet. Glad we have them.

We've had Towmax, Maxxis and now the GY Endurance and never had a problem with any of them. The Towmax and Maxxis each had ~15k miles on them and were still in great shape. Too soon to tell with the GY though as so far we've only towed the 110 miles home from the dealer.

I changed to Goodyear Endurance in June after two years on the OEM rainier’s and I am quite satisfied. Obviously too soon to tell much about durability but feel much more secure. I also appreciate a made in America tire. Got mine at Tire Rack!

I think they are both good tires, I went with the Goodyear Endurance because of the higher speed rating. Posted highway speeds in many areas exceed the manufactures rating of the Maxxis.
