Reese Goosebox in a shortbed

I have a 2017 F350 6.75' bed that tows a 2018 Jayco Eagle HT 26.5 RLDS. Is anyone towing an Eagle HT with a Goosebox on a Ford short bed?

Reese has some wording to make me think it works, unless the angle it too severe. They don't specify, but it certainly won't be 90 degrees. I really don't care about that much angle anyway.

Etrailer recommends a slider, which I will absolutely not do, ever.

No, I am not interested in any other hitch brand or type.

I’ve been towing with that setup for the last 3 years with no issues.

Any pictures I could see of that setup and hitch, by chance?

No worries, it was a longshot in the dead of winter

Can you open the tailgate and squeeze through between the truck and trailer with this setup?

Reese Goose Box

Ive had mine for almost a year and used it for many trips. Its on Ram 3500 SWR shotbed. My 5th wheel is a Grand Design 310 GK that is nearly 8 and half feet wide so, there has been contact with the side of the truck cabin. So, I got one of those B&W 4" extension goose balls and it gave more clearance but still can't make a 90 degree turn. But for now it's adequate. The 4" extension ball is available on Amazon, costs about $150.

Thanks, unfortunately that isn't an option for the Reese Elite hitch that Ford uses.

It seems not many people have attempted this exact combination.

I have a 2019 GMC 3500 SRW 6.6' bed and a 29.5 Eagle HT. should be same nose cap as yours and I can turn more then 45deg but not 90. More then enough for me to move anyplace we needed. I'm running the factory puck system B&W ball system.

I asked Reese which model could be used to replace my current Reese Revolution. They kind of shocked me by responding that no Goosebox would fit my trailer.

This is the latest from Reese. I cannot believe Lippert made a frame that only supports the Revolution king pin.

"The GooseBox and standard pin boxes have never been compatible with the Revolution mounting design. The width and hole patterns do not match."
