Jack

How long does it take to drain the oil with the Fumoto? I’ve been thinking of getting one but heard it’s slow to drain.

Edit: looks like that valve is brand new and you haven’t drained with it yet?

Tom yes the valve is brand new, just installed yesterday.

I also heard that they drain a little slow. Hoping to keep my brand new oil pan from getting stripped out like the old one.

I put a new tonneau cover on it. I went with the UnderCover UltraFlex. A HUGE upgrade over my TonnoPro. No more flapping around, and I can fold it up to have access to almost all of my bed.

I still need to tweak the installation a little bit. The rails don't sit quite as flat as I'd like up front, but otherwise a great upgrade!

Fixed my engine block heater. It suddenly started tripping the house GFI as soon as it was plugged in. Tried 2 different outlets using 2 different extension cords with the same result. Any other electrical device plugged into these outlets caused no issue.

Took it upon myself to figure out how the thing works. I traced the cord from the 3 prong all the way through the grille to the engine and found where it plugs into the actual heating element. Using a multimeter I found there was about 37ohms of resistance through the heating element which is normal. I figured it must be the cord. I unplugged each connection and cleaned the contacts with electrical contact cleaner spray, then reassembled. I also used a file and gently filed the 3 prong connectors in case it was corrosion caused.

Whatever it was (likely moisture/ice/corrosion), what I did worked. The only thing I would do different next time is test the element with a laser thermometer gun, and not my cold fingers. Ouch.

Also this winter weather is getting old in a hurry.

Ordered a set of Bilstein 5100 shocks and struts for all four corners. Should be a huge improvement over stock and a much more stable, solid tow.

Changed the oil on the new F-250 today. It was just as easy as my '12 diesel and $50 cheaper.

New set of LT Bridgstone Dueler AT RHS tires on my wife's 1/2 ton Ram. This is the second set of LT tires on that truck and I can tell you that they are a huge improvement over the P series that it came with. 57K on the last set. Could have gone quite a bit longer but she picked up a piece of steel in one and I just thought it was time for a fresh set.

Also dropped of my '07 Ram at the local dealer for the passenger side air bag recall. Hopefully get it back tomorrow.

I started moding my mod. I find that the sound bar I added is difficult to see they indicator panel which is on top and is right under a wall cabinet. Hard to see.
I'm going to turn it over so the indicator panel will be facing down and just reverse the input leads to keep left left and right right.

Hey norty,

What kind of truck do you have? Must be nice if it has a wall cabinet and sound bar! LOL!!!!

Ordered a set of Power Stop Z36 Severe Duty pads and slotted & drilled rotors for the fronts. Can't wait to get those and the Bilstein shocks & struts installed. Should tow like a dream this summer!

New site in the park

We moved to the other side of the park today. After 3 years in the old site we now have a different view on a quieter street.

Gave it a MUCH NEEDED bath. It actually looks like a truck again instead of a "big ol' rollin' turd!"
