To be sure! Our G'son is also 5 and I can't imagine even attempting that without his supervision.

Doesn't hurt to start them out early and instill the love of the "great outdoors" (another great movie, btw)!
On another note, I did my first mod...... the fridge fan!! Now I'm anxious to see how it works on our next trip. The next one I want to do is the maxx air vent covers. Maybe goin' to CW today.

It's 5,000 lbs. with the factory installed tow package.

We have a Jayco 23B...I love the trailer and have done a ton of mods to it, but just like anyone else, I still have several mods I still want to do.
I'm towing with a 98 Dodge Dakota with the 318 V8 with tow package and have no problems.
Welcome to the addiction!

Well, the "weather gods" are smiling on us because it's going to be an absolutely gorgeous week-end. Highs in the mid '80's with no rain!
Wife and I took off work early today to go on our second trip with the new TT!
One of the things I want to do is try to locate the international space station. It's supposed to be in our area twice tonight and again tomorrow night, and it seems you can see the stars clearly in a campground, so maybe we'll get lucky. Acouple of nights ago, it travelled right over our house and all I had to do was look straight up at it!
Hope everyone is having good weather where you live as well and have a nice week-end!!

I have the same trailer as you (down the interior color) and I did a lot of research on the right TV for this trailer. I do not think that you are towing safely with an Explorer and this trailer.
With a fully loaded trailer, which is not hard given the low cargo capacity of this trailer, you will be right at 5000 pounds.
The tow ratings of vehicles is based on a full tank of gas, plus a 150 pound driver. If you have multiple people in the car and/or equipment/stuff in the explorer, you are over your tow weight right away.
You never really want to be pulling at more than 90% of towing capacity as well.
just my 2 cents. Southern Indiana is not exactly flat either, so you run the risk of hurting your TV's tranny and potentially doing damage. If you go south at all, that only gets worse.
I hope you enjoy the trailer - but sometimes RV dealers will tell you it is ok to tow the trailer even when it is not.

Knick.... Thanks for the comments and/or concern. Since we just purchased the Explorer and the TT, starting over is not an option. After towing a second time, the Explorer did fine. The Explorer is my wifes' vehicle where she is the primary driver. We didn't want some huge TV where she had to climb in it to drive it. Where I live in south-west Indiana it's about as flat as, say, Kansas! We are not planning any cross-country trips as most of our camp outs will be within 50 miles or so. If we were going down south or north, yes I would be concerned.
And yes we are enjoying the new X23B!!
Ans so far,

Nice Rig! I got the 2012 23B at the beginning of summer. We're 7 trips in and enjoying the journey.

Well, it seems like you are ok, but watch your tranny temperature if you have a gauge. Are you using a WDH and sway control? I think I have gone the overboard route as I am towing ours with a a full size truck, but I wanted a truck - so it worked out.
Enjoy the camper. We are loving ours.

Will do Bud!!
Who knows..... when I retire in 3 to 4 years, (If the economy will let me), I may just get that really nice TV!! And I am a FORD man!
And yes, I didn't skimp on the WDH! It's the Equalizer WDH with integrated sway control. The other thing I want to do is replace the CURT brake control, that the dealer installed, for the Tekonsha P3 controller!
