New Style Tent Ends

I went to the MARVAC Camper and RV show this weekend and noticed that Roo has completely changed their tent/platform design. Instead of having the tent material overhang the platform, now the tent material is rolled under and riveted into the platform.

The result, it looks super sleek, with less material to fold into the sides when folding shut. But I'm worried about it. I'm wondering if you all think there could be a moisture problem where water rolls down and through the slot - getting under the bed. Also, the edge of the platform is thin which could hurt a young child's noggin if they run into it.

I'd post a photo, but everything I've seen online are the "typical" tent ends.

Have you all seen the new style? What are your thoughts? Should Jayco copy, or leave well enough alone with the existing, tried-and-true style we've all come to love????

Ha! Found one.

Notice there is no flap material. The tent end is permanently installed, and the platform metal side is uncovered.

Hard to tell but the photo, but a closer look at how it is constructed may tell how they keep any moisture from getting into the seam, and if it gets in where does it go?

Based on the quality of the 2009 Roo I had. I do not want Jayco to ever copy from Forest River ever. I love my 2011 23B & would hate to think Jayco would ever copy a subpar product. Hopefully they never do.
