X23B Upgrades

Has anyone installed a medicine cabinet in the head and upgraded the step and handrail? Couple of things need modification. Thanks

We added the Morryde 2 step to our 2014 x23b and love them.

I believe that the 2015 model year was the last year for the single flip style step. My 2016 has 2 steps which helps. Perhaps you could change it to a newer style? I have to agree with the other post that you cannot beat the Morryde system. I have looked at them several times, they are awesome. If you have not seem them, simply go to an RV dealer and try some. I have not changed the medicine cabinet, but I am looking into removing the from drawer in the dinette, and having more from compartment space. Many say they keep the front face of the draw on remove the rest, and screw the face on. Keep us posted on what you decide with your steps.

Good camping!

I added the bigger hand rail. It comes in handy from time to time. I also built a small step to make it a bit easier for us old people to get in to the unit. The medicine cabinet is something we've thrown about but decided to go with hanging units in the shower. We don't use the shower seeing we camp at areas that have clean showers so it hold other things.

Did you have it installed or were you able to do it yourself?

I installed the railing myself. It was no problem to do so. If you do it yourself, make sure you have thee sealant tape to go under the posts.

I put up a medicine cabinet. Just a simple one from Lowe's. I used 3M mounting tape and haven't had a problem in the 3 years it's been up.

Any pictures? Is it fairly shallow? And lightweight, I assume. Thanks!

I like the stability of these, but sometimes our kids need to get to the bathroom FAST when traveling and would hate to have to one more thing to move. Plus, quite often we need to get in the camper at gas stations, rest stops, etc and I worry these stairs would protrude a little too far out. Maybe some day I'll give them a shot.

I got this from Home Depot and put two roller latches on it so it wouldn't swing open.Click image for larger version

Added a larger folding handle. Be careful as there's no wood backing at one of the areas where the bolts went so I had to put a steel plate inside as a backer. Just painted it to look like the rest of the stuff and they are hardly noticeable. Lightweight means very little to mount to. Found out the same thing when I wanted to add a roller cover on the slideout to keep debris off. Got the prints from Jayco and there is nothing to screw to ,as there is no internal support . Called Jayco to verify and they said no way to add one, it will pull off end ruin the fiberglass.
