"Click Click Click went the furnace! Ding ding ding went the bell!"

No - you don't have to meet me in St. Louis either.

Every day is Something New when you own a boat, a pool, or an RV. Yesterday, the RV is sitting out front. Unoccupied. Plugged in. Thermostat is Off.

Click, click, click, click, click - coming from the furnace. Non stop. It had been clicking for a very long time, many minutes, perhaps a couple of hours.

The only way to get it to stop was to kill the 12V power at the master switch. Power on, and the clicking resumes. I pulled the fuse until I figure this thing out.

It was warm yesterday - 80's (*F).
But very wet and rainy. Light Colorado rain - not a Texas Flood.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

First guess would be a bad thermostat.

Was the propane turned off when it was clicking and trying to ignite?

Also the rain could have shorted something out. That's probably a long shot though.

Something is telling the furnace to light. If you can disconnect the 12V power, then disable the thermostat and then reconnect 12V power and the clicking stops, it's probably the thermostat as stated above.

I know this is different somewhat, but since buying ours new last year, the furnace fan will come on its own, and the only way to stop it is to pull the fuse. After a while, it is back to normal. It has done this twice now. It is on the dealer's list of things to do when it goes for warranty service.

Whelp - when I had time to look at it the next day, I put the fuse back in and things had corrected themselves.

I guess that's the good news.
The bad news is that I'm sure the furnace won't work this December when I really need it to.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Mine had a clicking problem once. It was the result of water getting on the circuit board due to the sealant leaking. Check the seal around the cover.

Classic symptom of water on the circuit board. Do you have an access panel on the outside? You can use a hairdryer to dry them out but you need to fix if water is getting in. I made a silicone gasket around mine when I had the issue by putting Saran Wrap over the panel door putting a thick bead on the frame and closing the panel down pressing the silicone to make a seal. After drying, removed the Saran Wrap and left a perfect gasket.
