Water heater leak

I noticed this past weekend that my 10 gallon Atwood water heater was leaking at the tank at both the cold in and hot out connections.. I had seen the hot out connection drip last year where the plastic connector goes in the aluminum collar. I tightened up the connection to and it was good all last season. No go this year. I had to remove both connections and re-dope the fittings... All is good. Just another connection I need to remember to check regularly

I did that same repair last year, due to the same issue.

This year, I noticed while flushing the tank, the Hot Water outlet valve had a droplet on the shaft. I will need to keep an eye on this now.

I am hoping is was just condensation, as I was filling the tank through the hot water outlet to stir up any crude as I was flush the tank.

Just a tidbit tip: I was reading some instructions on a tube of pipe dope and it said to not use it on plastic fittings. Has anyone had a problem with leaks using pipe dope on threaded plastic (PVC?) fittings?
