12 Volt Water pump

If you have to replace your 12 volt freshwater pump , do you need to prime it before you use the First time ?

No, they are self-priming. I would recommend flushing it for a few minutes however after installation.

Also, if you have to replace it. Take the time to put it in an easy to get to location. If you keep the camper, over the years you'll will be back at this location.

Adding some soft flexible hose, and soft mounting pad, to help silence the pump.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but can the water pump be installed anywhere in the water line or does it need to go "early" in the water line from the tank prior any branches to the faucets?

as long as the suction hose towards the FW Tank is connected (and the winterizing Anti-Freeze system) - the discharge can be anywhere in the Cold-Water-Line.
Most practical and logic is: where all FW valves are located.

Technically you can Tee into the cold water line anywhere. You still need to have your pump's pickup tube feed from the FW tank. I would also recommend keeping your winterizing bypass, but it could be relocated.
