1tac safety discs

Has anyone used these safety disc? They really look like a great item to have if and when you need them. The video really looks interesting. The website is 1tac.com. Take a look......

I have seen them in use along the road and they are very bright. I considered them but haven't gotten any, my only concern is when I need them, the batteries being dead so would always want to have spare batteries if needed. Search "LED road flare Safety Light" on Amazon, there are a lot cheaper sets and they all appear to be exactly the same just rebranded like everything else from China. Even if you want the 1Tac units, they are cheaper on amazon than direct.

I purchased a set off of Amazon, they are all made in China anyway. They work fantastic, are very bright and were inexpensive and much safer and easier to use than road flares. A nice item to keep on board "just in case".

I wonder if using lithium batteries would help with that whole "not having a charge when you need them" thing. I've been trying to use lithium in some of my less-frequently used, but still somewhat critical devices. Like I carry a pen-light on me at all times, but I don't use it that often. I recently switched it to lithium batteries hoping to get a longer shelf-life and lower risk of bursting the cell inside the device. I had batteries in there before that burst and I had to break down the light and clean it all up.

I would think they would last longer. I think if I get some wait till I need to put the batteries in, and take out when done and not have to worry about them bursting inside. Might be the solution to that issue.

We have always carried the foldable triangles. In you have nothing then these would work but get the cheaper knock offs on amazon. Way cheaper. Take care.

Enjoy the journey

DOT Requirements:
6.3.6 Emergency Warning Devices (392.22)
If a vehicle is stopped on a highway or shoulder for a reason other than a necessary traffic stop, the driver must turn on the vehicle’s hazard warning system, which is to be left on until the vehicle’s external warning devices are in position. The hazard warning system must again be utilized when the warning devices are being picked up before the vehicle moves on.

Warning devices (warning triangles, fusee flares, or liquid-burning flares) must be placed within 10 minutes in three locations:

One on the traffic side, four paces (approximately 10 feet) from the vehicle, in the direction of approaching traffic;
One in the center of the traffic lane or shoulder, 40 paces (approximately 100 feet) from the vehicle, in the direction of approaching traffic; and
One in the center of the traffic lane or shoulder, 40 paces (approximately 100 feet) from the vehicle, in the direction away from approaching traffic.
If flares are used, the driver is responsible for ensuring that at least one flare remains lit at each location as long as the vehicle is stopped.
