Cool 2003 Jayco Greyhawk- remodeling dinette advice

Hello Folks- After attending the RV show last week, I learned that my '03 Greyhawk looks pretty good, all things considered. One feature I have disliked for a long time is the table to bed setup, where I have to remove the table top, the 2 posts, and replace the top and then reverse it in the am. Kind of getting sick of that whole deal, and since my prior camper was a Minnie Winnie, I know there are better options....I would like to replace the posts with that handy setup that has to attach to the wall, and with a turn of the lever, the table glides up and down, so so easy!!! I am worried about the weight and capability of the camper wall to handle this setup, so any advice you all have, I will take into consideration!!! Thanks,

I wonder if you could get a construction schematic from Jayco for the wall on such an old unit?

If you find there isn't quite enough support in the wall, you could use "backer plates". Attach a larger piece of wood to the outside of the wall to spread the load out. I've seen that done with some success.

Oh, and welcome to the club!

I was thinking of using a 1/8" piece of plywood and using liquid nails to adhere it to the wall portion from floor to bottom of window, then attaching the mechanism that moves the table. When you say "outside of the wall", do you mean Exterior Outside of camper?
