Well after 5years I found the fix for this .The screw on the crank mechanism is too long not allowing it to close every time .You need to add three washers to the screw facing the back of the motorhome
I have an 09 same problem .. rattling front vent when driving.. it drives you nuts .. good find and thanks for sharing .. I just cut that screw down a little and now you can crank it a little tighter. Bet there's a lot of folks with same.
