Good Morning,

21 class C with Sony radio with carplay.

start the trip

Plug the iphone into the unit

carplay doesn't come on for 30 to 45 minutes

anyone else have this issue? can't find anything in settings

I have replaced the cord

Suggestions please

Perhaps you should update the software on your phone, and on the radio?

Facing the Sony screen, there is a cover on the back right side that pops off. There is a USB A plug there that goes to the connector on the dash.

1) Check that connection, it might be loose, or
2) Unplug that and plug your USB cable directly from your phone to the Sony, bypassing the connector on the dash.

I was having a lot of random disconnects when using Android Auto, and sometimes it wouldn't even work at all. On my last trip I plugged my phone directly into the Sony using my own cable and didn't have any problems with it at all.

Great info the update worked for me but now i know i can bypass the plug in should they get loose..
