Bottom Mattress is Wet

My wife and are camping in our 27u Greyhawk. When making up the bed this
morning we noticed the bottom of the mattress is very wet. The wetness seemed to be confined to the area over the slide extending past the main area of the coach. We are in an area that requires heat in the morning and air-conditioning in the evening. The wooden base below the mattress is very cold. Is this a result of condensation? Is this something we need to be very concerned about or just a function of the temperature changes? Any help, advice and/or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it's condensation. It's from the change in ambient temp, humidity and body temp in the RV. Whenever the temperature flip-flops like that, especially in humid areas, it'll cause moisture buildup under mattresses in slides making them wet. You could try a thermal reflective blanket under your mattress, it helps reflect the heat.

I've heard of this all the time in hybrid TTs, but not a MH. I've had a couple 29MVs and never had that problem. I wonder what's different.

I suspect that the differences are due to the air temperature and the humidity in the air.

In any case, I would highly suggest to purchase one of these. You can trim this as needed and it will help out a lot for getting (keeping) some air under the mattress. ~CA

Thank You Everyone

Thanks everyone for the information. I will try the mattress barrier.

I've camped for years in the MV floorplan and I've never had the mattress wet on the bottom. Maybe the MV's base on the bed slide is thicker then the 27U's? It makes sense to me on the hybrids as those ends are very thin, but the MV's I've had never had this problem.
