Dinghy Towing Chevy Traverse

Hello fellow travelers. We have a Class C 2016 Jayco Greyhawk RV. We are considering a new vehicle to Dinghy Tow (currently towing a 2009 Chevy Colorado). We are wanting something that will hold more people. We have started looking at the Chevy Traverse and were wanting to hear from anyone who has Dinghy Towed this vehicle and any plus or minuses. Thanks! Al D

I started towing our 2012 Traverse last spring and have towed it over 5000 miles. We have followed manufactories' owners manual towing instructions and have had zero problems. It tows and follows great. The only thing that we've notice, is that after we reinstalled the fuses the SES light is illuminated but eventually goes out after several cycles of starting the engine.

If you're looking at the new Traverse, 18 & up, they are not dingy towable from what I've heard. Have a friend who bought an 18 Equinox for just that reason. I know for sure our 18 "High Country" version isn't.

We purchased a 2018 Chevy Equinox to tow behind our 2018 Greyhawk 29MV. We have about 15,000 miles on the Greyhawk, so the Equinox has 15,000 towed miles and about 38,000 driving miles so it is well used. We've had no problems towing the Equinox, but make sure whatever make and model you choose that it IS towable. Not all Equinox models can be flat towed and the sales staff don't always know what is and what isn't. Make sure you read the owners manual before signing on the dotted line.

Thanks you all for the quick responses and good info. Disappointed to hear newer Traverses are not dingy towable. We are looking for a vehicle that will haul 7 people and will flat tow.
