Eternabond on Slideouts

Looking for some guidance on replacing the Eternabond on my forward slideout roof.
Need to know if I peel off the old stuff and clean the surface, what do you use?
I will attach a picture of the existing tape.

Can't really tell where the Eternabond is in the picture. Why do you want to replace it?

If you look at the leading edge of the slide top you will see a grey area. The factory tape has peeled back and I’m afraid that eventually water will sneak under the seam and leak into the ceiling. Our model is a Greyhawk 29MV and this is the dinette/living room area.

I used 4" wide Eternabond sealer tape, works great.

On my prior '05' Eagle TT slide I used a hot air blow dryer to remove the old OEM tape and cleaned the surface prior to applying the Eternabond tape. The screw heads were coming through the old tape.

On my new '18' Jay Flight TT slide I applied Eternabond over the existing 'thin' OEM tape because it wasn't compromised yet....., cleaned the surface area prior to applying the Eternabond.

Rustic Eagle I guess the tape on my slide is the thin OEM tape as well. It looks like it caught something at one time and it rolled back a little. Can you tell me what you cleaned any old residue with?

I use lacquer thinner (don't apply directly to the roofing material) applied to a cloth then clean the surface, then wipe the surface with a damp (water) cloth.

Eternabond also sells a cleaning product.
