Exterior TV door leak

I've 'searched' and 'advance searched' and cannot find the thread about the leaking exterior TV cabinet door and remedy. Found water inside from under the cabinets after a light wash. Anybody?

Hey Rick, here is a short thread:https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...-tv-50023.html

Bottom line - Our year (at least) Senecas did not have enough screws attaching the entertainment cabinet to the sidewall, road vibration caused what hardware they did install to shear off and then the cabinet can pull out causing a leak point. They replaced and added more screws and resealed the cabinet. Been fine since. You might need a ladder to get high enough to inspect the top edge of the cabinet to see if it is pulled away and has a broken caulk seal.

Another issue I had was the roofing on my kitchen slide had a tear, but you have an FS, so your's isn't in a slideout like mine was.

Same Here

Mine did the same thing (2014 37FS). Leaked right under refrigerator, and now I have to replace some wood trim. I resealed the TV box frame and no problem since but I keep a watchful eye on it. I posted some in a thread as well.

I thought about pulling the side and top screws to better bed the frame in GeoflexRV but they put a 1/4" of mastic on the screw heads. And do I risk porking the paint? I'll probably Frog tape around and finger smear some caulk in the space between frame and sidewall.

Did you find a gap that might be a leak point? Even if you don't pull the existing screws, you may want to try to sink some extra fasteners so it doesn't move any more.

I think your sealing idea would work fine.

Lift-Off caulk remover is the sliced-bread of caulking repair. Frameless shower door silicone-GONE! It removed all the Jayco-applied stuff that was stiff and had visible cracks. I push on the frame and sidewall and get no flex. Hence the finger-forced caulking job.

Rick or anyone -

What type of caulk did you end up using?

DICOR or other?

Thanks

Terry

I like that this stays flexible and clear. No silicone, so it sticks to itself if you need a touch-up.
Geocel 28100V Pro Flex Crystal Clear RV Flexible Sealant - 10 oz.
$12.09 through Amazon.
