Filling Fresh Water Tank With Pressure Regulator

Is it necessary to fill the fresh water tank with a pressure regulator? I know that it is needed to use city water in all the faucets, but what about filling the tank? Would it damage anything without it? I think it would fill faster without it, and since it would overflow if it is full.

I don't. I fill from an external opening where the fill line isn't pressurized.

If you have one of those fancy setups where you turn a valve on a control panel to fill the onboard tank, then yes, I would personally use the regulator.

On a 2018 Class C with settings to fill tank water will come out the vent lines on the tank so pressure is not a issue.

However you fill it, just do it slowly.

For me personally no hose gets hooked up to my Rig without some sort of regulation.

Theoretically the tank is open to atmosphere, so it should be just fine. On a MH with a utility command center, I would have a pressure regulator on the hose.

When my tank is full, I am pressurizing the tank. It cannot dump water out of the overflow fast enough if I don't get to shutting off the valve as soon as it starts overflowing.

We bought one of these to use when filling the FW tank and also have a pressure regulator.
