What octane gas do you use for a Grey Hawk with the V10?

Check your owners manual and I'll bet is says 87 octane. That's what my old one(2004) took.

My company truck is an F450 with a V10 in it it tips the scales just over 12,500lbs. It's got just over 82,000 on it and has only run 87 octane. Genny included. No issues at all with either. Mine is one of the lower mileage trucks in our fleet area. The highest has about 180,000 on it and is still going on 87 octane.

Thanks, the manual states it can run on 87 but runs better with higher octane. New to the v10

Bought my rig new this year with the V10. Run 87 with no issues or pinging. Great motor!

Making trip across the Rockies this spring towing a car on a trailer. Wondering if going to 89 across the mountains would be worthwhile.

It wouldn't hurt anything by running the higher octane, except your wallet.

On your rig, wouldn't think you would need it, the V10 has some real balls.
