Good Sam Roadside Assistance

Getting ready to make a "mini" trip about 3-4 hours away. This will be our first trip away from home. I've been going over my information I got when we purchased our RV, but I'm questioning roadside assistance. Do I need to purchase a policy from Good Sam Roadside Assistance before I start my traveling? I don't remember if any benefit(s) from the dealer when I purchased my rig. Inputs?!

No sure if it still offered but last year Jayco provided one year of roadside assistance from coach net. Check your paperwork to see if this was provided.

It's a comfort to have. One problem will pay for the annual cost. If you feel comfortable changing tires and are properly equipped you may not need it.

Peace of mind is also a consideration as with any insurance.

Especially if you don't travel far.

In my opinion it's better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it...

Had it once for a class C I had, when I needed help when a break cylinder locked up they couldn’t get anybody to help me. Now I just take my chances. Is your equipment that bad that you worry about breaking down a few hours from home.

Check your RV insurance policy itself, it may have roadside assistance clause that would cover most things, maybe not.

Our 2018 Greyhawk came with one year free KOA Campgrounds membership and one year Good Sams Roadside Assistant.

Took several months to get all the paperwork and ID cards in the mail.

Never used Good Sams and have had Coach Net which has been ok.

Also, Ford gives you 5 years on the chassis.

We have Allstate and Good Sam Roadside Assistance. We also have Travel Assist. We are certainly capable; but let's face it, when you're broken down on the interstate or in the middle of nowhere without the proper equipment for a fix (and you can't bring everything you might need), it sure gives you peace of mind. Just not expensive enough to quibble over!

I have had two blowouts in the middle of nowhere and called Good sam. Was on the road within 30 minutes of making the call, both times. Nothing but good things to say about Good Sams so far!
