Greyhawk keyless entry

Our keyless entry quit working on our 2018 class C Grayhawk I replaced the batteries And still nothing I called Bauer Products, she told me that using the Duracell batteries messed up the electronics I’ve never heard of such a thing. She said only use energizer batteries. I tried those who still does not work. Any thoughts?

Funny world. I am no help. Energizer and Duracell, make the same battery, using extremely similar methods.

I would call back and try to speak with another individual, and see what they have to say.

Side note; My kids have a tendency to toss old batteries back in the drawer with the good batteries, so while checking all of them, I did a trial a while back, on known good batteries, measuring voltages, both Duracell and Energizer, do not recall which brand had which results. But nearly all of one brand had 0.01 higher voltage reading than the other brand. That is still not enough to cause any issues on a battery operated system.

No and even the ones I took out had readings of 1.3 to 1.4 volts. They only been in there for a few months.

Yeah, I'm gonna call BS on the brand of battery causing an issue.

Mine came equipped with standard batteries, maybe Duracell, I don't remember. I was having some problems, I think they were trying to die. I replaced with Energizer Lithium, and have had NO problems since.

I replace them with Energizer but they weren’t lithium I’ll try those but I agree with you that is BS on the Duracell.

Here's a link to a Bauer electronic lock user manual:

https://www.manualsdir.com/manuals/6...ck.html?page=6

The "troubleshooting" section is pretty basic and pretty much suggests only 3 user actions for trouble 1) replace batteries (note it does NOT specify a brand) 2) adjust the "plug" (don't know what that really means), or 3) program a new code.

The only time I've heard of batteries causing problems is if they are very low quality, or if you use two different types. You never want to mix batteries.

But any name brand battery should not cause a problem in the lock.

I heard one of the guys mention that lithium batteries only should be used. They can take the high heat of the sun hitting the door. Give them a try.

The personal code will need to be reset after every battery change.

I use the lithium exclusively now, will last an entire season including over the winter and still work. I change them out anway and give them to the grandsons for one of their game controllers and they continue working for a while!

I have used everything for Duracell, Eveready, to rechargebles and now just use Harbor Freight batteries. They don't last as long but they are cheaper and sometimes you can get them for free with coupons. No issues with mine.

We have a 2016 Jayco Greyhawk MV and recently decided to try to reset the code. Installed new batteries and nothing. I'll try to use lithium batteries as suggested to see if that helps.

My batteries would tend to jar loose as the door was opened and shut. I used some thin insulation (armaflex) tape between the batteries and the batter access door. No issues since.

Personal experience from a 74 year old: I have found Duracell Batteries tend to corrode more easily than other brands. I therefore won’t buy them.

Sure, but as long as the battery has a charge, the keypad doesn't care what it says on the wrapper.

I was advised by Bauer over the phone to only use Energizer Lithium batteries. I have followed their advice, and have not had any issues in 2 years. I replace them once yearly just as a precaution.

I’ll try the lithium batteries and post the result someone asked about resetting the code. I knew to do that but there was no power to the lock to do that.

If after installing new batteries there still is no power you might check the connection from the batteries to the main circuit board. If you remove the 4 inside screws on the interior portion of the latch assembly the paddle and battery compartment can be removed. But be careful, the wire from the battery compartment isn't very long. This wire has a tiny plug on the end that inserts into a mating receptacle in the rest of the latch assembly still in the door. If that plug has come disconnected the latch will be completely dead.

I had removed the four screws and the inside panel. I checked the connector and battery pack and all looked good. I didn’t remove the silver cover because it said it would void the warranty. I still had no power to the keypad.

I agree battery make shouldn't matter but I use name brand just so they last longer.
Did the old batteries happen to corrode? Maybe silver contacts battery hits are not clean?
Did it work one week and not the next or was it after storage for extended time it stopped working?
