To all my brothers and sisters in arms, whether they serve at home or in foreign lands, thank you for continuing the fight to keep us all free.

May God bless you and keep you safe from harm, provide you with the strength to endure the hardships of service, the courage to overcome all obstacles, the compassion to lead and care for your comrades, and the honor to treat the conquered foe with dignity and respect.

Sergeant First Class, Field Artillery and Infantry, U.S. Army, 1996-2010.

This may get me into trouble, but I'd like to point out that this day's observance is not limited to the USA.

In the UK, it's Remembrance Day, and other countries have their own versions.
I served my country, it just doesn't happen to have been this one.

Can we not extend respect and thanks to all warriors, of any uniform and whichever side they were on?

Absolutely! I've served overseas alongside the excellent soldiers of the British Army. All allies are our bothers and sisters in arms, regardless of the country they serve. Thank you for your service, Ian.
