How to Change Lamp for Exterior Steps?

Hello,

I'm in the process of changing the lamps on my 2013 Jayco Greyhawk 31FS over to LEDs. The one that is giving me trouble is the lamp mounted underneath the coach that sheds light on the exterior steps. Does anyone know how to remove the circular lamp cover so that I can replace it? Does it pop off with a screwdriver or does it need a twist? Or is this one sealed and have to replace the whole assembly?

Thanks for your time,
Marshall

Welcome to the Forum!

There are some that are sealed units. If it has external screws attaching it to the frame. it may be sealed. If the fasteners are under the lens, it pops off. A picture of your lamp would help identify what you have.

Update on step lamp replacement

Just to follow up on this thread in case it will help someone else:

The space is very tight to work or even snap a photo. I tried my best to take a pic and it appeared to be similar to this item https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories.../LC358693.html

There was no tab to depress or screws to hold the lamp cover, just had to use a small flat head screwdriver to pry it and it popped off. Then replaced the lamp with one of these https://smile.amazon.com/24-2835-Bri...16&sr=8-1&th=1 Though it does not seem to fit very snugly. I will not be surprised if I am prying off the lamp cover again soon to glue the bulb in place.

Now, if only I could figure out how to turn off the lamp....
It stays on, anytime the main power is on
