Ideas As to What This Is w/Pics
Feeling out my new to me ‘16 Greyhawk 31DS and found this plug near the dash but not sure what it’s for. E450 if it matters at all.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mavrik

I'm in a 2016 31FK. My guess is that connector isn't supposed to be out in the open. Could it have slipped out when the doghouse was opened?
I'm in the same Ford and I don't have that one showing.

Is the 12v plug above it working? Looks like that might be the power for it.

The wood grain panel should pop off there and you can take a look see behind it to see what's not plugged in.
Another member is trying to figure out how to get his same exact panel off. Let us know how hard yours is to get off.

Four wires? What color are the wires going into that connector?
That blank black panel just above there with something that looks like a little button on it is where the passenger seat airbag switch and light are located in the Econoline vans.

Bullitt I'll have a look at the color of the wires later today and post. As for the blank black panel, that was a question for another post lol. Thanks

And it is possible that the plug in question is the wiring harness connection to the not installed airbag switch.

If that's what it is, it looks like the right connector. See attached.

Thanks to the suggestions and wiring diagrams it seems that is exactly what it is after all. I have just tucked it back inside the panel.
Thanks so much to Bullitt and Scoutmaster and everyone else who replied.
Now off to do some more exploring....

We just purchased a 2013 Greyhawk 31DS, and the same plug is exposed. Was also wondering what it was. Dealer surmised it was for brakes. Now I know!
Thanks for asking and answering the same question I had!

I have a 2020 Jayco RedHawks 24 B E450 ford, and there is no plug hanging out, probably not supposed to be out

It is an Iphone thing (and maybe others) but a Google search will help you with getting them in the correct configuration.

I am going to bet you have an iPhone or Samsung Smartphone. There may be other phones with the problem, but I know both Apple and Samsung are the biggest offenders.
Apple programmed the camera app incorrectly with the very first iPhone, so when photos are taken portrait style (meaning taller than it is wide), the metadata for the photo is labeled the same as when you take a photo landscape. Websites use the metadata to determine how to display the photos. Some web sites and apps recode the metadata when you upload photos, but most don't. For instance, if you posted one of those photos on Facebook, it would look correct.
Why Apple hasn't fixed that now after 10 generations of phones is anybody's guess. Apple doesn't like to admit when it is wrong, which is the only reason I can think why they'd do it. Since Samsung basically ripped off the iPhone when they designed their phones, it has the same issue.
Easiest solution, don't take portrait oriented photos on an iPhone or Samsung phone

Thanks Michael & CAG. It is an iPhone and now I've learned something new today. Now to actually remember to take pics in landscape...

I have a Samsung S8. Even my previous phone was an S6, I learned that when taking photos take the top of the phone and rotate it to the left, counterclockwise, so the top of the phone is now in your left hand and take the pic. Then it will post correctly.
And I couldn't agree more, you would think after 10 generations of phones they would have something as stupid as this fixed by now.
