Inverter

When plugged in the inverter comes on and runs for approximately 5 minutes every hour. Nothing in rv is on or appears to be running.

The coach battery is nearly new and showing 12.4 volts.

This coach has only one coach battery even though the battery tray has slots for two.

How do you know it is coming on? Fan noise? Are you sure it is an inverter and not the converter? Big difference. The inverter changes 12 volts to 120 while the converter changes 120 volts to 12. It is possible for the cooling fan in the converter to come on now and then if it is being used for charging or 12 volt accessories.

Curious - Bloomington Minnesota?

Forgot to say 2012 melbourne.

I have removed cover under rear bed and am certain it is the inverter. Runs during night when I first noticed it.

I thought might be over heating so I left cover off and it still came on for approximately 5 minutes just as it did during the night.

If it has a built in electronic transfer switch the fan will come on periodically when on shore power to cool the electronics. Had that with the one in our PINNACLE.

Why the heck would they configure an inverter to be able to come on when on shore power? For that matter, it is my opinion that an inverter should be TOTALLY off until it is actually needed. They still eat 12 volt power if fired up and not actually powering a 120 volt device. So wasteful!

The converter is still charging the batteries, so probably no loss.

Does your battery ever get better than 12.4? It could be getting weak.

Should be around 12.7 when charged.
13.1-14.4 while charging.
