Keeping Critters Out

I’m sure it had it has been talked about here in this form already but I need some ideas about how to seal the underside of my 2016 Seneca 37 HJ.

I have been using Fresh Cab Rodent Repellent successfully to keep mice out, but this time it was something bigger that got into rig.

What ever it was, a cat, a possum or some other critter got into several underbelly compartments, into the one of the drawers under the oven but did not get inside the living area of the rig itself.

It chewed several item in the underbelly compartments to include some wiring and shredded my heater ducking that I now need to replace.

So with that said, any suggestions on sealing the underbelly to help prevent this from happening again would be greatly appreciated!

Also, any ideas on what to replace the flimsy heater ducking with, something more rigged?

Thanks All

You could replace the duct with more rugged aluminum flex pipe or solid 4 duct. If you have an underbelly be sure to tape everything with gorilla tape and foam.
Haven't had critters in the RV for over 25 years.

Check the area around your battery compartment. There sometimes is a missing plate behind this area that needs to be added. This is where I have experienced 2 animals getting into a Seneca. It is located on the driver side very front area.

Thumbs down

On our 2018.5 Seneca there were virtually open holes everywhere. You just have to get under it and inspect every inch of your compartments. We had a huge cutout under our fridge, removed the vented grill and there was about a 9” x 12” cutout with just a few things coming up through it. Same thing under the bed where all the wiring comes in. Inside start removing access panels and removing bottom drawers and look for opening, every floor plan is different. You can get the black foam at hardware store but I just used the yellow as it expands better. In a large opening I cut a piece of brass screen and hold it in place with a couple short screws the foam over it, this kinda gives you double protection if something starts digging at the foam.
