We bought a new 2018 Greyhawk 26Y a couple months ago and didn't care for the mattress either......it was 60 x 72 which is even shorter than a short queen. Found a mattress factory nearby and had an INNERSPRING 57 x 74 made with the fold at the bottom like the original. Really a comfortable and better fitting mattress but cost $800 because of unique design and hand made. Glad we did it but wish we didn't have to. Good luck on your efforts to improve the mattress.

Have you looked into an air mattress?

It would be easier, I think, if RV manufacturers would just leave the mattress out and let you buy your own... That way you wouldn't have to dispose of their burlap bag-o-straw that they call a mattress...

We sleep on memory foam (3 different densities, mixed) at home so we bought the same foams for our 5th wheel. It is really nice to sleep on the "same" bed in either place. This is on our top 10 list of why we would rather sleep in our trailer than in a hotel.
