New owners of a 29ME
After about 9 months of doing walk throughs and test drives, a couple thousand pages of reading reviews, and after creeping on numerous RV forums like this, we bought a new 2017 Greyhawk 29ME today. So happy and looking forward to summer.

The 29ME was my favorite floorplan. Had we not found a killer-deal on the 31FK, that's what I was shootin' for!
Congratulations!

I am considering a 29ME as well. Would you mind posting what the yellow sticker on the front door says about available cargo capacity?

I will. Probably on Sunday bc we have to drive it home Saturday from Bozeman to Great Falls. If you have the last 8 digits of the VIN of the RV you’re considering and you call Jayco’s motorhome division, they will tell you the exact weight of that unit when it left Jayco, including a full tank of gas and a full canister of propane. The weight they gave me on the phone was 1 lb different from what was on the yellow label.

Thank you very much. Hope you have a great trip home Saturday. I am really looking forward to being able to take that first trip home with whatever MH I decide on!

Unfortunately, more than half of that 1,200 pounds probably needs to go on the front axle.

We too have the 2017 ME and have been full timing since October. Zero complaints so far with the rig. Let me know how it goes.

Luckily, it'll be just me and my wife most of the time the RV is in motion and we are not heavy packers, so I think this unit will be just fine for us, even with the lower OCCC. I only have the test drive and the 180 mile drive home under my belt with it, but so far, it's handled fine in town and on the highway.

I enjoyed reading the various comments about the Greyhawk 29ME. My wife and I just bought one this past January, and we have only driven it home from Phoenix to Colorado via Vegas. I have yet to see anybody talk much about engine performance, and I am a bit disappointed with the 8 MPG on a vehicle that is only 14,500 GVWR. I keep the highway speeds under 65. And it just seems to labor hard when climbing. Does anybody have any comments about this? Do I expect too much?

Yes you’re expecting too much. It’s 10 cylinders and 6.8L pushing the equivalent of a barn door 65 miles per hour down the highway. Be a kid again and stick your hand out the window while underway at 65. Now face your palm towards the hood - remember doing that? Just imagine the drag you V10 is trying to overcome!

Here’s what I can say. I may have just bought this RV, and it may be my first motorhome, but I have some experience with this engine. I have a 2000 F250 with the V10 that I use to pull my horse trailer, hay trailer and boats. I get about 9.5 mph in the pick up, but at 90 degrees or -10 degrees, it never changes internal temp or burns more oil and is pulling a lot less weight. I am hoping I get 8 mph at 14500.

Thx, Jopopsy. Yes, I understand the issue of wind resistance. But what is puzzling to me is the fact that MH manufacturers are putting this V10 in 25,000 pound Class A's. The wind resistance issue is common to both. Greyhawks have a GVWR that is over 10,000 pounds LIGHTER, yet they struggle as much as the big Class A's. I don't understand that. Are the V10's tuned differently in the Class A's and Class C's?
