Older Jayco Class C Water Heater

Older Jtayco Class C. First time tried to use the water heater. Propane is full, tank is full, Lit the pilot light no problem. Went to run position, pilot light stayed lit, but burner would not light. Moved the heat selector to a higher setting but still nothing. I was thinking it might be the burner is bad all rusted up. All other things work using gas. Any hints on what is going on. If it is the burner, much of job to pull and fix or replace. Thanks

Did it "click" when you went to run? If not you have a bad control. If it was a plugged burner the flame would come out by the control.( flash back). If it clicked could be a plugged orifice.

The brass fitting on the line that goes into the end of the burner tube.
