On the road with no hot water

We left Houston on Monday and we had hot water and everything was good. Last night I noticed the water wasn’t as hot as it had been. Now in a camp ground in San Francisco with no hot water at all!! Does not work on either gas or electric. Sure don’t want to take a cold shower until we get home in a couple weeks. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Barry

DId you check your fuses? Both gas and elec need 12v control voltage.

If you plug in shore power before the water hose is hooked up, it can blow the thermal fuse.

I checked the fuses in the box and the little two amp fuse on the circuit board and all were good. I did check the thermal cutoff and there’s no continuity there. I’m guessing that is bad? Don’t really know if that is the case but I checked on Utube and checked it as per instructions.

Thanks for the reply’s

We had this problem: no hot water; no heater.
Inside the outside-access cover on our Melbourne is a black plastic box, about the size of a deck of cards. It's some sort of electronic unit. They fail.
I sleuthed out the problem, bought a new black box, installed it. Repaired.
The unit runs about $180, I seem to recall.
The place that sold it to me sells lots of these units, a clerk told me.

Get an Xtra thermal fuse, I did

My brain also died at like 2mo old

Got a dinosaur brand UIB64 from Amazon. Great reviews, and took like 5min to install

Yep. The service guy just left. It was the thermal diode. He didn’t have one with him. He said just jump around it until I can pick one up. He said turn on the water heater before you take a shower and shut it off when your done. He said it could overheat if you don’t shut it off after using it.

Just ordered a pack of six of those little thermo diodes on Amazon for $18. Have a few spares for next time.
