propane gas detector

I installed a new propane detector 8 -15. It is beeping, and says it should be replaced already. Shouldn't it last longer than 1 1/2 years? Stan

Although many last for years the common number tossed around is five years before having to replace. The beeping drives a person crazy and I had one that was extreemly sensitive and was on it third set of batteries in a two week period before it settled down. I assume you have tried new batteries next is to take the unit out of the coach and see if it still beeps. Be prepared to just replace and accept you were on the short end of the stick this time.
