Did you flip the cone screen over? Sometimes the check valve spring is a little stubborn, so if you flip the washer/cone screen so that it points in it holds the check valve open. Just remember to flip it back when done.

Make sure you have a water tap open so the outlet from the water pump has some where to go....

Did you turn the valves at the control panel to sanitize/winterize?

I had this too happen from time to time.

Make sure the hose that's pulling the AF up is rock-tight to the connection. Any air that get's by the threads will prevent the AF from getting sucked up.

Raise the bottle of AF so the pump doesn't have to pull so hard, etc.

On my Redhawk 22J I had to use a hose clamp on the hose Jayco provided. It was leaking air. It worked fine after.

I had my screen flipped and still had an issue. Make sure the screen is secure in place to hold the check valve open, mine was not making proper contact as my connector is a little loose. After a little fiddling I got it to work.

Dealer worked me in this morning. Said the water filter cannister seal was not tight (I tightened as much as I could...but apparently not enough). Also said another seal was lose which they repaired.

They also suggested buying a hand pump specifically for priming the water pump.

Thank you all for your suggestions.
