Replacement Solenoid for Girard HWH. Any experiances?

So I had my solenoid replaced on my gen II Girard HWH. But it was at the end of the season up here in Michigan when they did it. So i haven't had a chance to see if it is working properly. So I am wondering if anyone has experience with the replacement.

I had my dealer replace the solenoid under warranty . The 2nd generation still did not work reliably . After one year it not working reliably ( it was 120deg or more all the time ) Jayco agreed to replace it with the 3rd generation . This has worked reliably although it is not a great choice if you need to conserve water . Girrard Teck support was very helpful . To get the dealer to replace it I had to get nasty . I was patient but a year is enough

I had mine replaced on a gen 3 and it has been working well for 6 months and weeks of camping. I hate the Girrard heater, but feel stuck with it. it wastes water and difficult to get used to. I set it at 102 for my showers and the Admiral sets it at 107 for hers. Once it's set and the water is flowing then all is well. Don't think about shutting the water off to soap up and shampoo. Even for a couple seconds it has to start over finding the proper temperature, meanwhile wasting lots of water.

Something must still be amiss. I flip our Gen II off and on - to soap and shampoo - and don't have those problems. We can even mix in a little cold at the shower faucets too.

I dunno - maybe it's OUR unit that's broken because it's working.

We don't do any "boondocking", so for us we like the tankless HWH. Nice to have unlimited hot water. When it worked, it was great. The problem we had was the gas solenoid wouldn't open to fire the heater. E3 error code. So I would have to "whack" on it with a wrench to get it unstuck. Apparently it was a problem, since there was a recall on it. Hoping replacement has fixed the problem.
