RV State of Texas Registration

I just re-registered my 2016 Jayco Greyhawk Class C RV with the State of Texas for another year at a cost of $135.00. This is on top of the vehicle inspection fees. It made me wonder what the annual registration fees are in other parts of the country for Class C RV's.

An arm and a leg in Wyoming I am sure. My fifthwheel is over 500 dollars.

$75.00 I paid to NYS DMV for my 2015 Jayflight 27RLS, plus $129.00 to register my F-150 for two years. I'm sure it will be higher next year.

Those are "don't complain" numbers.

$50/year registration (plate sticker) in Ohio, happy with Ohio.

We recently moved from Virginia. at the time I had purchased a new TT, price about $25,000. In addition to registration (dont remember, about $50/year), Virginia has personal property tax. Had I not moved, it would have been about $800 per year on that TT. Although it does go down a bit each year due to deprecation. Also Virginia charges sales tax on full purchase price, trade-in not deducted. That was going to be another $1100 or so.

I think there are several threads on this topic.

One item that makes this difficult to get a true picture. Some states charge a property tax and their registration fees are low. Others do not charge property tax (Arizona) but their vehicle registration fees are higher. This makes the results apples and oranges without clarification.

NYS...high taxes on everything. What they don't tax, they impose a fee. A tax with a different spelling. Like nobody will notice that.

Waiting to see where it's the cheapest on everything, then we'll move there....unless there's hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, alligators, big spiders and snakes, things that can eat you for lunch, or kill you. (Maybe that leaves NY or Vermont )

We have floods, dust storms, high heat, snakes that kill you, spiders that kill you, scorpions that make you sick, big cats that will eat you for lunch, and still people keep moving here and messing up an otherwise good thing. They move here and try to change it to what they messed up where ever they came from. They cause our taxes to go up, they cause our house prices to go up (that would be a good thing but then you have to buy a new one at inflated prices). They clog our freeways with bad driving and poking in the left lane. They flip you off when you honk at them for talking on the phone and driving.

I could go on and on but it is beginning to hurt LOL Can you say Californicate?

For our 2021 Entegra Odyssey 31F, it was around $900 at time of purchase here in California. We don't pay property tax on vehicles. It will be interesting to see how much the renewal is.

Does Texas require you to pay property tax on an RV?
We are planning to move to Texas next year.

CA has a license fee (it's a percentage of the value of the vehicle).

I forgot about the hot climate thing, also. The DW doesn't like hot or humid climates, hence the Vermont idea.

You're safe from us coming to Arizona. I remember it was one of the first states she crossed off the list. Probably is fine if you grew up there, or are used to the heat. Never had the pleasure of visiting there as yet.

The state of NY is starting to echo, since so many people are leaving.

Arizona is a beautiful state. You may want to try going there in fall, winter or early spring.

What you describe is just about everywhere these days....well maybe not the scorpions and cats, but those are being replaced with feral hogs. Same people.
