Stablizer jacks clearances

The stablizer jack clearance is set at factory minimum 6.5".
We have been underneath and there is no room to raise them any higher. (We ate very handy owners and do 90% of repairs ourselves)
On our jayco 29mv, can we put on larger tires to gain a bit more clearance? Is this advisable?
Thanks in advance

If you have the clearance you could put bigger tires. You would need to get some programming done if you want your speedo to be correct.

Wouldn’t be really any clearance for larger tires on our redhawk. Never have we had any issues with jacks hitting or dragging and we dry camp for offroading so lots of dirt and desert roads. But that and raising the suspension on vehicle which then adds to the top heavy factor.

Six new tires, $1200 and I think you'd gain 1/2".

Bigger tires will create other compromises, maybe more problematic than your jacks. Do they actually hit more than you like, our are you worried they will? Mine (Melbourne 29D) look scary low, but I have been off roading and boon docking for 6 years without issue. If they really need to go up, find a creative fabricator, who will find you a solution.

Had same concern with my 27U. Going on 1+ years and have had no issue with dragging or hitting. So have pretty much quit worrying about it.

If you are considering changing the type of jacks you have consider these. I had my dealer installed a HWH Corp 725 series system to our 31FS when we bought it. These jackets retract a few inches, then fold up to maintain good ground clearance. http://www.hwhcorp.com/ml51120_ap49818.pdf

Sometimes the rear jacks pick up road crud so I hit them with WD40 every month or so to keep them folding up and down smoothly. Otherwise they are trouble free.
