The only two cents I can add here is maybe get a gad about town vehicle. Meaning something small and is light weight. Stay away from KIA I am hearing they are another Pinto.

+1

I looked at those really hard. Love that they come on the Ram chassis (I really loved my Ram truck), and you can even get them in 4WD!!

They come with a lot of standard features on the house side too that I really like.

In the end, I just couldn't see spending the extra for our usage pattern. If this was my retirement rig, that would've been a different discussion...

But I agree that it would be nice to see the E-series optioned with a diesel.

I read somewhere they were close to rear axle capacity unloaded. Check real good before buying. I took the Isata off my list of Super Cs for that reason.

We have towed a Cherokee and a Wrangler with out '15 Redhawk 26' with no problems. At first we just had the Wrangler, but with a 90yo mom it's not something she can climb in and out of if I want to take her shopping at family reunion. So I researched all the cars that could be flat towed and liked the Cherokee the best.

I saw that when i looked at the overall capacities... If we ever think of downsizing (shudder the thought) the Towing capacity and Cummins powertrain are the driving factors.

2013 Toyota Corolla Toad

I flat tow a 2013 Toyota Corolla S with a manual transmission. It’s a little over 3000 lbs if not loaded with stuff. Originally bought it to tow behind a 2006 Winnebago Adventurer 37’ with 5000 lb capacity. Now tow behind a 2019 Jayco Greyhawk 29MV with 7500 lb capacity. With either rig I can hardly tell it’s back there.
