avoid NY and DC

Good luck
84 -81 all the way to 77 and 77 to 26 in Columbia SC 26 to 95

Done it many times from CT.. It is a nineteen hour ride with a car only.. The trucks on all the interstates make driving in the dark a white knuckle experience

You cannot afford a traffic jam period.. I suggest you start very early at 5 am

Frankly this is a trip I no longer will do in one day.. I wound up doing it and absolutely punch drunk from exhaustion .. I was a danger to every one and I was not dragging a box.

I just took 77 through Charlotte to 26 to 95 a few weeks ago. As always, the traffic near and around Charlotte on I-77 was absolutely awful, even at off times. It took us nearly 3 hours to go from Statesville to the SC boarder. No exaggeration.

Other than that, everything else down to Jacksonville is wide open.

We have always taken Outer 485 around Charlotte. Its true that 77 clogs up but the outer ring is pretty smooth.. Since 485 is an almost complete loop take the Pineville way
