Water heater question?

I’m new to the world of on demand hot water and not sure if I’m using the system correctly. I turn on the shower hot and cold water. Get it to a comfortable temperature and then it gets too hot and then cold and back to too hot etc, etc. Is this the way they normally work or am I not doing something correctly?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Jimmyd

Do not use cold water. Adjust the temperature with the temperature adjustment only. The on demand water heater works on temp and flow. Using cold water to adjust the temp reduces flow and creates inconsistent hot water flow.

You can also try to help increase the flow from the showerhead and faucets by removing the flow restrictors. In the shower head, it's usually a small disc with a hole in it and is located inside the end of the hose where it attaches to the shower valve. After doing that as well as replacing our factory showerhead with an Oxygenics Body Spa, we were able to mix in at least some cold when we were at a park with at least 40# of pressure.

It will cause you to use more water but can help mitigate what your encountering. Like Cajun mentioned, to keep the burner lit in the Girard, it needs about .9 gal/min or more of water flow thru the unit or the burner will shut down.

You guys are the best. We will try using only the HOT water with the setting lower first and see what happens. This is great info. All our other coaches had water tanks and Im learning my way around this one. This was our first trip out. So far so good 😊 Jimmyd
