winterizing 1st time

i drained everything closed water heater bypasses now i am hooked up with short hose into af and i cant get pump to prime. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Did you try turning around the screen in the inlet of the RV? There is a check valve behind it and the reversed screen will help push it open.

Or raise jug up above the hose conection.

For me, seting-up the AF jug & hose then opening the low point drains seem to prime the lines so the pump can do its job. Close the low point drains before switching on the pump.

FWIW - I have to do both: raise the jug up and flip the screen around. Flipping the screen around -- putting the "pointed end" in first -- opens the check valve. The pump doesn't have enough ooomph to open some check valves.

Flip it back round when you're done.
