2021 Ice Maker

Good Morning
We just bought the 2021 Jayco Eagle 5th wheel with the residential fridge.
The ice maker runs off the water line from the 5 gallon tank under the sink.
It is making ice however not much at all. We dumped the first 3 batches as it said to do. Those 3 batches took over 24 hours to drop. But it is still producing slower than a normal residential ice machine. It will take a 4-5 days to fill the tray without us using any ice.

So my question is… will this get better or is this how slow it makes ice always? And can you hook the fridge directly up to our city water ?

Very doubtful that is's the water supply since ice maker's function based on temp. The ice tray has to hit a certain temp before it cycles. Try lowering the freezer temp and see if it goes faster. I always set our's one number lower than what it says on the control panel .

What temp do you usually run your freezer at?

Don't know temp since fridge controls are usually 1-7 or such. If the control panel or owners manual recommends 4 we go to 5 or one colder than suggested.

I’ve been trying to monitor our fridge temps a bit closer and recently bought an indoor/outdoor-fridge/freezer thermo. Has 2 remotes and wasn’t very much $. Our Norcold has settings 1-9 which means little except bigger is cooler.
I would expect freezer temp close to 0 would be the target.

Normal. The icemaker makes ice slowly. Your coach does not have the same water pressure as the house because it runs on a separate water pump that draws water from the water jug (usually under island behind a hidden wall. Mine is behind the trash can. You can hook the fridge up to city water, but you need to figure out a way to bypass the drinking water pump (low pressure) usually under the island. That low pressure pump is the issue (not your coach water pump for showers or faucets). If you notice, the drinking water dispenser on the fridge only pumps out a max of 4 ounces on a timed dispense not 8. Before I replaced my fridge water pump I tapped the rear line into the coach plumbing and wala, but that defeats the purpose of having a separate drinking water jug with clean water. My replacement pump (one that draws water from jug) was a higher pressure pump and I wired it to the Fridge 110v wiring under the drawer between the stove and fridge. I also had to T off some lines under the island and bypass the island water dispenser (not the faucets) as well.

We have the same set up and have a full bin within 24 hours so something isn't right with yours. I would think it is the freezer temp since you are getting water to it, unless your pump runs for more than 10 seconds to fill tray up.

We have the freezer temp set at "0" which is the recommended setting according to Whirlpool. We set the fridge at 35.

Yesterday I hooked up a bottle of water to our fresh water drinking system for the first time. it worked like a charm. I then checked on the Whirlpool 4 door refrigerator, and the ice maker switch was on and has been on all along I guess. This was around 1700 hours yesterday and this morning around 0730 the ice tray was almost full. very impressed.

2021 36FBTS. Ice maker fills rather quickly using separate water system. Whirlpool side by side refrigerator. Freezer set to 0 degrees. We had a problem with ours right from delivery. it was running, but not getting cold. Whirlpool sent a tech right to the house. i called them directly. Turns out the compressor was never plugged in at the factory.
