I have a 28.5 RSTS and the heat resisters in the living room are in the floor. I am going to be traveling and stopping over night just to sleep in store parking lots where they don't want you to open your slides , the registers are covered by the slide when the slide is in or retracted. Has anyone run the furnace with the slide retracted covering the registers ?
IMHO, shouldn't be an issue. That hot air will just go out your other registers. If it's like my kitchen slide there's a 2" or so gap so it's not totally blocked anyhow. If they are all blocked it may be a problem.
I think there is enough room between the slide and the floor to let some air circulate. I've tried ours and it's ok. Make sure you leave your closeable register (bathroom) open for max airflow.

I have the same unit and you wouldnt need to open that slide to far to uncover the 2 registers. That one isnt a problem stopping short since it isnt a shiwintek system. That would also allow you some room to move around the island.
