31RSTS shock absorbers don't fit

Scratching my head. My 321RSTS fifth wheel is prepped for shock absorbers so I purchased the Lippert 283280 shock absorbers which were supposed to simply be bolted on. They are too long to install into the holes in the prep package and I wondered if anyone had a similar experience or advice.

I have a 319 MLOK with shock prep when I installed my shocks I had to put one end in and run the nut down to compress the rubber bushing which allowed the other end to clear.

Monroe Shocks & Struts Magnum RV 555025 Shock Absorbers. I got them off Amazon and they fit perfectly. We own 2022 321RSTS

Thanks for the input. I'm still puzzled. If I fully compress the shock I still need over 2 inches of space to get the bottom stem into the hole in the mounting bracket. I have around 10 inches of length to work with and the trailer is empty. If I raise the frame with a jack I could get it in but then I would only have less than an inch of compression left. I went to a dealer lot yesterday and looked and new 321 RSTS trailers and all were similar with around 10 inches of length to work with between the mounting brackets. Did you folks jack the trailer to install the shocks? The picture somehow rotated when I uploaded it, sorry.

2022 321 RSTS

Here is a link from etrailer.com that showed me what to get: https://www.etrailer.com/question-519992.html
I'm also including a photo I just took of my shock installed.

I asked a local used rv dealer to install them and afterwards he said it was easy.

I suspect Monroe makes Lippert shocks.

I also have the Monroe shocks guessing they are the same as Lipperts, I did jack up trailer enough for axle to hang when I installed.

I found the 555001 which are just a bit shorter than the 555025. They are 7.82 inches compressed when measured from the base of the stem. The 555025 are 8.625 compressed. Putting those and MORryde Crossmembers on my 321RSTS this spring. Available on Amazon.
