3rd Roof Air for 377RLBH
Have any of y'all added a 3rd roof air to your 377? I'm thinking about adding one to ours, as it gets real hot in there during the Southern summer heat. Pros/cons/thoughts? And I wonder how expensive it would be?

Ask Tom...he did it. It’s in the Mods to 377 thread.

Yes, I did it. I did some other things to help but summer in Texas can be HOT so I added the third unit.
Pros: Cooling power! You can keep the trailer cold on 100 degree days
Cons: Not for the novice DIY person. Noise--the extra unit is not the whisper quiet style so it does add some decibels to the inside of the coach. I installed mine over the loft and it can still be heard in the living room while trying to watch TV. If you install in the loft, kids WILL complain that it is too cold up there. I just close off the chill grill so it doesn't blow right on them. If you install it over the kitchen vent, the noise level in the LR will be even higher.
Price: I forget what it totaled but the unit itself (15k) was around $950 or so, plus I think you have to buy some other miscellaneous parts so I think it was less than $1400 or so.
If you have the dealer do it (as long as your unit was prewired for the 3rd AC from the factory) it would probably cost you around $2000 if I had to guess. If your unit did not come prewired for the 3rd AC, chances are the dealer won't touch it.

Thanks Tom. I am definitely not a handyman, so no way I would attempt it myself (I'd either fall off the roof or get electrocuted). I don't guess it's possible to add another whisper quiet into the living room is it? They are probably insanely expensive. I have no idea if my unit is pre-wired for a third AC or not. All I know is its a 2017 377.

Look in the breaker panel you should see breaker marked 3rd a/c. Mine's a 2017 377 and it is prewired for 3rd a/c. I think it's prewired at the vent in kitchen.

No it’s not possible to add a whisper quiet unit without a LOT of extra work. You’d have to remove part of the ceiling to make/install the return air vents and to cover the hole left over from the vent or fantastic fan. Honestly the hardest part was getting the AC onto the roof. My wife helped me muscle it up there with me on the ladder and her on the roof pulling a rope. Kinda comical but it worked [emoji23]

LMAO! It must’ve been a dream. I guess I didn’t have anyone around to take the pic.

I have the same breaker in my 2017 377, but pulled the shroud off around the maxxair vent in the kitchen and no wires for 3rd AC. Maybe in the loft vent. Have to check that one next.
